Javier Robeto, B.Sc. — Rio Grande Project Manager

Javier Robeto is a young energetic, trilingual (Spanish, English, German) Argentine geologist who was top of his graduating class in geological sciences at the Universidad Nacional de San Juan in San Juan Argentina in 2005. Javier has received various awards and distinctions for his academic excellence.
In 2003, Javier worked for 4 months in the exploration department at AnglogoldAshanti’s Cerro Vanguardia low-sulphidation Au Mine in Patagonia, Argentina. During his time there Javier was responsible for logging diamond drill holes and marking that core for sampling. Javier also was involved with surface bedrock geological mapping at 1:1000 and 1:5000 scales. Javier completed his undergraduate thesis on the geology, structure and geochemistry of the Mangas 2 vein system, one of the more important high-grade Au ore-bodies in the Cerro Vanguardia district.
Javier joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in September of 2004 and since then has been actively involved in geological mapping, core logging, supervision of sampling crews, and detailed trench mapping at Antares’ Rio Grande project. In 2007, Javier was promoted to Project Manager of the Rio Grande Project.

Ivan Chavez, B.Sc. – Project Geologist

Iván Chávez is a young geologist who received his B.Sc. degree from the Universidad Nacional de San Juan in 2004.
In early 2003, Iván worked as for 2 months at the AngloGoldAshanti’s Cerro Vanguardia Mine as a student trainee, where he received training in logging methodologies for diamond and RC drill holes, and also participated in the mapping and sampling of low sulphidation veins.
In 2004 he was involved in a brief regional sampling campaign performed by Minera El Solitario S.A. in the Valle del Cura area, in San Juan Argentina. After this, Iván worked for Minas Argentinas S.A. (Viceroy) as a project geologist at their Gualcamayo Au property. He was there until July 2006, and his responsibilities included: control of drill-sites, RC and core geological and geotechnical logging, geological mapping at 1:5000 scale and rock chip and channel sampling.
Iván joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in July 2006 as a project geologist involved with company’s projects in NW Argentina.

Nelson Caram, B.Sc. – IT and GIS Administrator

Nelson Caram received a B.Sc. degree in System Analyses from the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia Austral (Santa Cruz, Argentina) in 2002 and a postgraduate certificate in GIS from Girona University (Girona, Spain) in 2006.
From 2001 to 2003, he worked as Senior Analyst in Disytel S.A where he was responsible for the analysis, Design, Programming for commercial software’s in different programming languages and engine Databases like SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.
From 2003 to May of 2007, He worked as GIS and Database Administrator in AngloGoldAshanti’s Cerro Vanguardia Mine. He was responsible for the analysis, design and maintenance of all GIS data and for the geological database (Century Systems) for Cerro Vanguardia’s exploration and geology department.
In May 2007, Nelson joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in the role of GIS and Systems Administrator. Nelson is responsible for overseeing all of Antares IT, GIS and database related activities for both Peru and Argentina.

Lourdes Saiz Cobbe, B.Sc. – Junior Project Geologist / GIS Geologist

Lourdes Saiz Cobbe is a bilingual geologist who received her B.Sc. degree from the Universidad Nacional de Salta in Salta, Argentina. During her career she worked in a Research Project for the University, studying geological and geochemical aspects of Ordovician phosphates ore deposits in the North-West of Argentina, topic of her graduate thesis.
In 2006, Lourdes worked in XR GEOMAP as a student trainee. During her time in this company she was involved in GIS design, data processing and producing thematic maps for different companies using ArcGIS software.
Lourdes joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in August of 2007, and since then she has been actively involved in the company’s GIS, designing and developing sections and maps for Rio Grande Project with specific software packages. Actually, she is also involved as a Junior Project Geologist performing tasks such as geological logging and drilling control.

Gustavo Avila – GIS, IT and Data Base Technician

Gustavo is a proactive and energetic argentine technician with strong skills in technology, software implementation and data management.
Gustavo obtained a degree as Chemistry Technician in 1992 and immediately after that he worked at Pepsico’s local factory in northwestern Argentina. He also has undergraduate studies in Maths & System Analyses from the Universidad Nacional de Salta, in Salta Province, Argentina. As a self-motivated and creative person, Gustavo has designed and implemented different softwares for local institutions in Salta Province. From 2005 to 2007 he worked in Elite Security Group as Administrator of the Monitoring Informatics System.
Gustavo joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in early 2007 in the role of GIS, IT and Data Base Technician involved with company’s Rio Grande project. His responsibilities include upgrading and maintaining the geological, geotechnical, and drill-hole databases; and also the generation of geologic maps and sections with ArcGIS and Datamine software packages.

Ana Pantano, B.Sc. – Junior Project Geologist

Ana Pantano obtained a geology degree in 2005 from the Universidad Nacional de San Juan, in San Juan Province, Argentina. During her career she worked as an assistant student at the Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology class for a period of two years.
In late 2005, Ana worked for 5 months at Barrick Gold Corporation. She participated in a regional prospecting campaign in the provinces of La Rioja and Catamarca. The tasks performed included: soil geochem sampling and GIS and DB administration. After this, Ana worked for a year at IAMGOLD S.A., where she received proper training in remote sensing and interpretation of PIMA analyses. She was involved in regional prospecting campaigns in high Cordillera in the provinces of La Rioja and Catamarca which included evaluation of several areas using rock chip, stream sediment and channels sampling.
From February of 2007 to May of 2008 Ana worked for Latin American Minerals at the Carolina (San Luis Province) and Rio Tendal (La Rioja Province) projects. She was involved in several tasks which included: design of geochem grids for soil and rock chip sampling, coordination of drill program, core logging, supervision of roads and drill pads building, etc.
Ana joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in July 2008 in the role of Junior Project Geologist at the Rio Grande Project in Salta, Argentina.

Atilio Mamani – Field Technician

Atilio Mamani is a motivated and efficient person from the town of Sey in Jujuy Province, but currently living in Tolar Grande in the province of Salta, Argentina. Tolar Grande is located in the high Puna Region and is the closest community to Antares’ Rio Grande Project.
He completed his high school studies in the town of Susques in Jujuy Province. In the year 2002 he moved to Tolar Grande and worked in the local Municipality for almost 2 years. He worked there as a tourism guide, receptionist in the local lodge and he was responsible for various administrative tasks.
Atilio joined Minera Antares Argentina S.A. in November 2004 and since then he has been working as a field technician in Antares’ projects in Northwestern Argentina. Nowadays he works at the Rio Grande Cu-Au project in several tasks including: core sampling, preparation of sample batches, environmental inspections, etc.
